10 very innovative ways to drive traffic to your blog.

Here is a really quick guide to driving more traffic to your blog, some ideas are obvious and some not so. It’s amazing just how many bloggers don’t employ the basics!

1 – Define a consistent style of writing and add some personality to it! Communities want the feeling of belonging and they will do this if you are consistent with your language, reviews and opinions. Don’t forget to make posts interesting. Just cutting and pasting someone else’s article is a big no-no. Inject some humor.

2 – Keywords in titles. This is so key to getting picked up by Google. Decide on the title once you have written the article and ensure that there is at least 1 key word in it. Also, think of yourself as the editor in chief of The Times, and think about how he/she would title the article – grab the audience by the balls!

3 – Keywords in text. Don’t go over the top with your keywords. A few well placed keywords in a sentence is all you need.

4 – Label images. You can actually double your traffic by labeling your imagery well. Yes the people finding your site through an image search will only be interested in finding the picture they want, BUT if you have the right ad programs then it’s a numbers game when it comes to making £.

5 – Linking. This is one of THE most important aspect of growing a blog from scratch. When you review an item, service or another website in an article – write to them and tell them what you have done asking for a link. They appreciate the free publicity!

6 – Submit interesting posts to book marking sites such as Digg & Delicious – instant traffic at the touch of a button!

7 – Show that you are human. Visitors become more interested in a blog if they know who is behind it and why they are doing it. If it is financial goals, don’t be afraid to share this. Get your picture up there and tell people about yourself.

8 – Post relevant and interesting comments on other people’s blogs. You often get the opportunity to link back to your site too (a free link).

9 – Free directory listing. Yes it’s boring submitting your blog to hundreds of directories, but it is a free link and another place to be found. Take 2 days out and just get it over and done with!

10 – Get the hot gossip. Contact all the big brands relating to your topic and get them to put you on their press list. As soon as they launch a new product or service you will be one of the first to be told and therefore if you et an article up fast enough you will become a leading blog in your field. Nobody is interested in yesterday’s news!
